I, William Collett schoolmaster of Leeds and Barwick-in-Elmet do this day the Seventh of May Seventeen Hundred and Forty-Three, bequeath unto my son Thomas Collett of Barwick-in-Elmet, butcher, the sum of Five Pounds
Also unto my son Richard Collett of Nottingham, framework knitter, I give the sum of Five Pounds
Unto my daughter Sarah Hebden, the wife of Thomas Hebden of Leeds, butcher, I give the sum of Five Pounds
Unto my daughter Elizabeth Pitt, widow, I give the sum of Eight Pounds
All which legacies are to be paid out of money in the hands of Thomas Micklethwaite of Leeds Esq, and money owing to me by Henry Marsh of St Clement’s in London, cooper
Unto my son Benjamin Collett of the Excise Office in London, I give the sum of Five Pounds
Unto my daughter Margaret Collett, servant to Sir Basil
Dixwell, I give the sum of Five Pounds
Unto my son Arthur Collett of Leeds, I give the sum of Four
Pounds
And unto my said sons Thomas Collett and Richard Collett, I
give a further Three Pounds to each
Debt owing by Holyday to my children equally
Unto my daughter Elizabeth Pitt, I give my bed and all the
rest of my household goods
Residue to my said daughters Sarah Hebden and Elizabeth Pitt
The Executors, and Witnesses to the signing of the Will, were
William Turner, Thomas Longley, and John Lucas.
